Governor’s Tree Presentation December 10th 2025, The Capitol, Raleigh

2025 Grand Champion Fraser Fir Winners Rusty, Melissa & Avery Barr, Olivia, Zak & Sophia May from Barr Evergreens presented their Fraser fir to Governor Josh Stein, which is featured in the Capitol Rotunda. The Barrs also provided the Peace Tree outside the Capitol. Joe Freeman & Linda Jones of Mistletoe Meadows presented an example of their wreaths and greenery as well. Mr. Freeman was the grand champion wreath winner for 2025. Additionally, First Place Other Species winners Kristy, Danny, Jessi Ann and Matthew Houck, of River Ridge Tree Farm, visited their trees which were presented to the Lieutenant Governor Rachel Hunt’s office at The Hawkins-Hartness House. The group also visited with the NC Department of Labor Commissioner, Luke Farley, at his office. His trees also featured NC Fraser fir from western North Carolina growers.
